Quick wins are successes that may not be the most earthshaking, but will give you that boost of adrenaline that makes you say, “Hey! I can do this!”

Go through your list of colleges. Are there some that do not ask for essays in addition to the Common Application?

Submit those right now! Just think how happy and relieved you will feel the next time your mom or dad asks, “How many applications have you completed?” and you can reply triumphantly, “Six!”

Now, we all know that this does nothing to reduce the amount of work you still need to do. But it just might give you the burst of energy and pride you need to streak ahead to your goal.
