It's time for a new school year, and some of you are still wondering, "Did I sign up for the right classes? What do colleges really want?"I suggest you ask yourself: What do I really want?Choose classes that show you doing what you really want to do! Are you planning to tell colleges you really, really want a career on Wall Street? Maybe you had better click on that video link above . . .Are you a little bit worried that what you say you want to do in the future doesn't square with what you actually like to do today? Let's get specific: Are you worried about what level of mathematics you can master?Now is the time to clean up your act. Rather than melt down into a lower level of math, how about stepping up your game? Most students we meet could be doing much, much better in math. Before everything heats up this fall, back up a bit and master the fundamentals of algebra. That will make everything else so much easier down the line!It will also boost your standardized test scores. If you really, really, really want a career in finance, you'll be taking the Graduate Management Aptitude Test in a few years. Even U.K. and European MBA programs require it.
